Most of America 's populace think it improper to spank children.
The other day I was talking to one of my younger buddies about
methods used to discipline children.

We talked about 'time outs', grounding, holding back 're wards' until
the child displayed desired behavior etc. One of the things we discussed
was the act of spanking and my friend explained that no, he does not
spank any of his children.

He explained that what he does is to take the misbehaving child out for
a ride in the car and talk. He said that usually this works and that the
child calms down fairly quickly and really doesn't take too much time.

By removing the child, in this case his son, from the immediate situation
and providing a change of scenery, the child is allowed to focus on
something different. Once the child has the opportunity to change
perspective, things get better quickly and the child has better
understanding of his place within the family and begins to understand
the families concept of acceptable behavior.

He kindly shared a picture of the process which I share with you now below.

hahahahahaha I was taking this totally seriously too.

Driving your kid around and talking probably would work too.

Ya know, come to think of it, time outs never really did work. I always got distracted or fell asleep.

Regardless, that is priceless.

Ok, at first I though this was going to be a real discussion on how to discipline your children hahahaha :)

I remember my dad spanking me when I was younger. Hmm...I don't think it works very well. My dad and I have a love hate relationship now.

Ha haha! That was pretty funny. I thought it was serious too. I got spanked when I was little, it never really bothered me much, I had / have a pretty deent paint tolerence and spankings never did much to me, I would cry to get out of the spanking. I also had time outs, not very often though.

I'm wishy washy on disipline, some kinds I think need a smack on the reer, others need to be strangled ... I mean.... thrown off of a cli.... wait, I mean... I think it all depends on the situation, unfortunately people don't think rational when they are upset at a child. I don't think beating children is right, but I don't think a little smack on the butt on occasion is deemed terrible.

I think the big thing is, children are spoiled allot more than they used to be, taking away their toys and privileges is a good way to combat the situation, but it can also be destructive... where am I going? I have no clue...

back on topic!

I think most fathers and daughters do. I'm working up to a nice one with my oldest.

I have 3 kids... "time out" only did one thing: acted as a pit stop to charge back up and to contemplate their next avenue of destruction. LoL
