which seems another confusing task.

Have you contacted your ISP and asked about any of the options they have available and what are your E-mail app settings for dealing with any "Spam" labelled e-mail???

no i have not.

it is from a gmail acct, i started using more regularly... then somehow my email was all over on sites and email servers i never even used.

i think they (whomever) just typed in first part of email and it ballooned on from there. a lot from US with regard to Trump, voting, misc phishing and some porno...

i have contact almost all my people who use that email with changes... then i will just delete it from my applemail. i wont see it, so wont be bothered again.

i dont think it is possible to delete a gmail acct!!! else i would!

Have you considered using Mail Rules and their option for dealing with SPAM and JUNK emails.

Or have a look here that I just came across:

It is possible. Try the following:

How to delete your gmail account
  1. Go to myaccount.google.com.
  2. At the left, click Data and personalization.
  3. Scroll to "Download, delete, or make a plan for your data."
  4. Click Delete a service or your account.
  5. Click Delete your account.
Let us know if that works for you.

I have three email addresses I use with Apple Mail app. I see very few spam emails in my Inbox. But my junk folder has tons. Of course I only use one email address for family and friends, then the other two are for old/new account sign in and newsletters.

I found that after receiving something in my SPAM folder on Mac... could not block it. but if I went on iPad and looked in junk it was there and I was able to block it.
where there is a will.... there is a way!!

I got entirely fed up with spam e-mails at some point years ago. I tried setting rules in Mail, that was ineffective. Finally I took some advice and got something has been an amazing solution:

SpamSieve ($30)
http://c-command.com/spamsieve/

SpamSieve does an almost magical job of sorting spam into its own folder to be looked at and erased at your leisure. Worth every penny of it’s price.

Currently SpamSieve (according to its own statistics) is 99.9% accurate for me, and it is parsing out an average of 28 spam messages a day. On the rare occasion a new bit of spam makes it into my in-box, I can train SpamSieve to catch it instantly.

If I recall correctly, SpamSieve was available with Eudora Pro years ago and was excellent then, just as Eudora Pro was as an e-mail client application.

Well worth the money If one is plagued with uncontrollable SPAM.
