Some but not all voicemails not downloading to phone

Hi everyone, my friend has a 14 pro max and handles a lot of voicemails throughout his business day. He's usually reading/listening to them and deleting them as he goes, but he's noticed that not all of them are coming in. He's assured me he has plenty of storage space on his phone, and deletes the vms from the deleted vm file as well.

Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing the issue?

So the phone indicates that there's a VM but it can't be listened to? Not sure what "download" means in the context of the the VM.

They aren't being pushed to his phone.

Then how does he know he has a VM?

He said he calls his voicemail and they are there.

Sounds to me like he needs to take it up with his cell provider.

When your friend deletes the old voice mail messages, does go to the bottom to Deleted Messages. Then clear then out.

It is a two step process to delete a message completely.

If they are Viewing the Recents page, ensure that All, has been selected. The other option is Missed, and sometimes to accidentally switches by touch.
