For the past two days I have been reverting my OS back to Mavericks. Actually I did a full install, not upgrade of Yosemite to see if it fixed everything. Nah, it was still broken as ****. Matter of fact it even screwed my printer up.. ARGH!!! So I got back on my super speed internet connection and 6 hours later I had Mavericks downloaded from my in store purchases. It would not let me directly install, so of course I made a mavericks boot disk on the through the command line using Apples create install media application. So went to install and while I was at it, I went into disk utility and turned my Samsung 256GB SSD and Apple 1TB HDD into a 1.25TB Fusion array. Disk utility had popped up and offered to FIX it for me. So it works and I didn't have to do anything special on my part. But got Mavericks back installed. But question is, if I am downgrading, why did it feel more like an upgrade? Well one huge complaint I have is my Time Machine backup would not work. It complained about it being for a newer version of OSX. Which is BS since it doesn't have nothing to do with system file. Way to screw one over apple. While I am downloading everything over which isn't that huge of a deal. The fact I LOST my entire Lightroom Catalog settings for all my photos I have processed is a REAL pain in my backside. So word to the wise, if you revert back to a prior OS version and your TM backup was made while using a newer version of OSX you CAN NOT USE IT. It will not let you.. But BUT, at least everything is back to working correctly.. Apple should be ashamed of releases a OS when its not ready. Just because you can do something, doesn't always mean you should. But I am sure everyone here fully knows that.. I been come spring when Apple is boosting about all the Yosemtie downloads, they are going to over look the amount of times Mavericks was re-downloaded. Yea those numbers will likely be left out of keynote. ;-)
