All I wanted was to sync iPhone contacts with Mac All I wanted to do was to sync my iPhone with my mac and I soon found out that I needed to upgrade to Maverick which I had done but that initially did not work . So I downloaded the latest OS X version that took forever to download and then did the same with the my iPhone ...that took again forever. I then found myself needing to get an iCloud account, which like others annoyed me as I feel all I want to do is sync my iPhone with my MacBook Pro and am not keen in having all of my info in the cloud managed by Apple and then that exposes me to cyber attack as has happened by so called protected sites such as Google, Sony and Ebay that have been attacked! In the good old days a simple cable connection between the phone and the computer worked ...now Apple want to suck you deeper into their world and I am not keen on that at all! I spent half a day getting back to a situation using iCloud that my contact list and calendar now syncs again. I am asked if I would like to buy extra memory space on iCloud yet I have 2 Terabytes at my home office and am not negative to buying more disc space if I need it for photos and videos if needed. The look and feel of the MacBook Pro screen with the latest OS X upgrade is modern and looks nice, but why do I have to again learn how to drive it ... The Calendar is slightly different and the method to change the month is again different. I ask why is it necessary to again change...it gives me nothing extra? When we all go and buy iWatch and the medical sensors will we all be subjected to yet another subtle change of interface and need to accept more iCloud changes to accommodate the new devices? I ask is that really progress? I can accept a change of interface say every two years but more than that is too much.
