The mail activity screen often show many messages coming in but I only get one or two displayed. eg. it has just said message 2 of 2 coming in but only one is shown in the inbox. Does anyone know why and if so where is the other unseen message? Have I got a wrong setting somewhere? I have to say that I am not aware of missing any important messages that have been sent to me.

Do you use something like ATTYahoo with the spam or junk filter on before it gets to your Mail I did this a while back problem was it could not differentiate junk from good mail.

Thank you for your reply. No, I have not set any junk/spam filters. The occasional message goes into the junk folder and I find that some of them are junk/spam and some of them are legit, which I transfer to the relevant inbox.
The other day the 'activity' screen said message 283 coming in of 385!!!! Incredible as I regularly download my mail. Needless to say I cancelled the download. Perhaps I should have left it to see what happened. I will if it happens again.
