Snapseed alternative for Mac OS?

I love using Snapseed on my iPhone and iPad - especially like the Portrait presets. Any suggestions of a similar program that I could use on MacOS? (Photos extension would be nice but not a deal breaker.)

I have several other programs - primarily use Pixelmator and Pixelmator Pro for edits that Apple Photos can't handle - but would prefer something quick and dirty like Snapseed when I have a bunch of photos of people..

Thanks.

@swandy

I've noticed that your very reasonable request for help has gone unanswered for some days.

This is not due to discourtesy, but reflects the fact a "quick and dirty" app with such a limited purpose probably doesn't exist any longer.

I note the other apps you use and Pixelmator is certainly a competent photo editor.

I suggest that you may need to reconsider your photo editing requirements and possibly go for a more comprehensive app which acts independently as well as being fully fledged Photos app extension - and a reasonable price.

I have posted in these forums in the past an exhaustive study I undertook to find an app that was at least as good as Apple's Aperture (no longer supported) but not so expensive or comprehensive as the full-blown Photoshop.

As a purely personal choice, my view is that, at $49, Affinity Photo app meets, indeed exceeds, those criteria. Standalone and as a Photos app extension this is a cheap (relative to the full Photoshop app) which does just about everything you could want.

Sure, it offers more than you may need, but the cost is good and the free and extensive video tutorials will likely take your photo editing skills to a higher plane.

NB I have absolutely no financial or any other interest in this company and my advice is based solely on personal experience with this app in comparison with several others, all of which I purchased.

Give this a read: Affinity Photo - Professional image editing software for desktop and iPad

I never thought twice about not receiving a response but thanks for writing that anyway.
I had previously tried Afinity Photo and while I liked it I first moved to Pixelmator and then their Pro versions. Both work fine - as you said both are less expensive alternatives to PS and Pixelmator does have some nice extensions. But was curious if there was anything similar to Snapseed which at least in the mobile versions has some great stuff for portraits without spending a lot of time.
Someone in another forum suggested Luminar and might check that out.
Thanks again.

Yes, Luminar is a good suggestion: Luminar - The Best Photo Editing Software for Mac & PC | Skylum

It's latest version is, again, a powerful app and rather more expensive than Affinity (£65) in UK pricing.

Problem is - it's for macOS and there are no immediate plans for iOS:

Luminar for iPad – Skylum Community
Luminar for the new iPad Pro – Skylum Community
luminar 3 for ipad – Skylum Community

Whereas, Affinity does have a fully fledged version for iOS.

Photography is fun. Enjoy.

I've been looking at alternatives for Lightroom and Photoshop for a while now and so have looked at most of what's on offer out there.

For me by far the best was Affinity Photo.
