I have a macbook pro 13 5_5... she's a bit older but she's a trooper. Recently I've been getting small lines about 1-2 inches long appearing in the middle of the left side of the screen. These lines are in a full column from the top to the bottom of screen and range in intensity. Either I'm about to work around them or it's a solid pillar. I know it's the not graphics, external displays work fine and the issue seems to go away periodically. It even resets it's misery if I close the lid for half a second and open it back up. I feel like it's heat related as when I'm at my SO's apartment I rarely if ever experience the problem (it's freezing in there) and that it's related to the cable. Any help is appreciated... I do have a spare cable to try but I want further opinions before I start disassembling my screen assembly... and kind scared to do it, too broke to pay for it.
