I reinstalled today using the archive and install option and now it takes about 10 times as long to boot. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to speed up the boot time. It used to take about 45 seconds and now it takes about 4 minutes.

Thanks!

Hi,
I am not an expert just installed a few times.
After a while it will be faster. Try to use MacJanitor to clean unnecessary files. After boot 2-3 times have to be better. Do not forget make online updates also.
good luck.

I'll try using Mac Janitor. The weird thing is that it is running much slower for EVERYTHING not jus the boot. I was just burning an AVI to DVD with Toast and it has taken about 2.5 hours to get 30% finished with the encoding. That's just an example, everything is slow. Any reasons why this may happen or quick fixes?

Hi,
Not has any sure idea. Sorry.
Look maybe on the "Energy Saving" and set >> Power Adapter >> Better performance.
Also look the Cpu using. Look on what percentage it is working.
