I want to give a Keynote slide presentation. Can I do this with my recently aqcuired 10th gen new iPad ? The last Powerpoint presentation I did was 15y/ago using my laptop which I no longer have and a memory stick.

Apple support article seems to say you can:
Play a Keynote presentation on iPad

I have no idea what might be needed if you would be using some sort of projector and what connections are involved.

In support of Patrick's Link and suggestions; I have regularly given talks using Keynote on my iPad over several years.

BTW, you can also get PowerPoint from the Apple Store on an iPad. Of course, there is a cost involved.

Thank you Patrick - yes that's the issue; what sort of projector and connection ? Back in the day I used a laptop which plugged in to a projector by wire. It seems those days are gone. My current kit is as listed under Santa. But it seems Ian might have the answer.

Ahh Ian, then you'll know how to connect to a projector and what sort is needed. This is my problem. The venue is a local community centre and I'm not sure what kit they have.
Re Powerpoint. Yes that was when I used a PC in the workplace. I'm all Mac now as you can see and don't want to pay needlessly for Microsoft 365.

You should contact the community center and ask them what they have for connections, if they have HDMI support there, there are adapters you can get for that.

Bob (ferrarr) has answered that. see what they already. HDMI is best, but, as Bob said, there are adapters you can easily acquire.

A visit to the centre is useful because they have almost certainly had presentations before. And have a trial run at the centre before the "big day".

A Google Search provides many hits for descriptions and illustrations of various combinations of what is needed and how to connect things and probably online stores to buy any hardware that might be needed:

A connection solution might become a bit difficult if their presentation equipment is outdated so much that connection equipment, like they needed cables and adapters are not readily available anymore. Or are they at a ridiculous high price? 😉
