size of Finder window icons

When I am on a website and I want to attach a file from my computer, the icons in the Finder window are too small. I know there is a way to make the icons bigger when I am only viewing the contents of Finder, but when I need to choose a file using the Finder window, how do I make the icons larger?

Here's a way to do what I think you want to do:
1. Open a Finder window and click the view menu.
2. If it says Show Status Bar choose that option otherwise don't change anything.
3. Now in the lower right corner of the Finder window there should be a slider allowing you to adjust the icon size. I think this only works in icon view though.

Sly I think he means in an Open dialog, the icons are too small.
My suggestion would be go by filename.

Thank you for the response. I am not seeing the slider bar.
Again, this situation is when I want to attach a file to a message or web page, and the Finder window comes up, and I have to choose a file, in icon view.

Looks like you were right on target Craig, as usual. I completely misunderstood what was happening. I'm going to go sit in the dunce corner for a while now. Anybody seen my hat?
