Recently on my iPhone 5, both Siri and dictation began spelling words as if in the UK. Colours, realise etc. When I say "pound" while dictating, Siri rather than spelling pound types the sign for the British Pound currency.
My settings are set to ENGLISH United States. I've tried alternating between all of the ENGLISH options with the same result. Interestingly, my iPad is also set on ENGLISH United States and it works like it ought to for USA. Colors. Realize. etc
Any ideas? Thank you

Thread moved to appropriate sub-forum..

So under Settings->General->Siri, you've ensured that the Language is English (United States). If that is true, have you power-cycled the phone? If that doesn't do it, try holding the Power & Home button down at the same time until the phone restarts and see if the issue persists..

Or perhaps Siri is trying to hint that you should be visiting the United Kingdom..:)

I fail to see how proper spelling is a problem. ;)

I don't know if this is tied to Siri's settings - it misspells colour for me (spells it color) even though I've set Siri to use Canadian English. I do notice however that my phone is set to a nondescript "English" in General > Language and Region. Perhaps this setting is off for you as well?
