I noticed something called SilentKnight appeared on my iMac today. Things have been a bit confused - chasing some odities - but I think it may have appeared at the time of an EtreCheckPro update.

I am not doing too well identifying it. What should I think about it, and should I do anything about it?

Known developer, good guy. It shouldn't have just appeared, you must have installed it at some point. Gives you the status of your updates and security. You can read about it at the developer site.

I use it all the time on my Macs. It's never caused any problems. The developer, Howard Oakley, is a well respected developer / technical journalist in the UK.
