This is just one of those nights where I am completely un-motivated. Usually I am pretty good about studying for tests and stuff in college. However, the test I have is in a Non-western Music class that has nothign to do with my major, yet I still have to take it as a Fine Art. We have a test tomorrow and I really don't want to take it or see what I'll get back on it as a grade, I'm hoping for a B. So far tonight I've studied for a total of 15 minutes max. Maybe I'll get more time in tomorrow to study. :eek:neye:

Yea, I was pretty stoked that the college I went too didnt have that all those non-major credits. Yea there was history and math and all the others, but no fine art. Don't sweat it though, everyone has those days. Good luck on your test!

Ha, you too. I have exam tomorrow too and my professor is an big donkey. I needed to move test date and I came to him about it three days prior and he said there was nothing he could do (scumbag). So I am off to fail(hopefully pass) my test tomorrow. It is only 10% of total grade so no big deal. But that's life. I had to bail out on some important things b/c of it, i.e. my internship, to take care of something.

Anyways goodluck, I feel your pain buddy. I am off to go study some I guess in a bit.

Got this e-mail from one of my professors today

Hi Everyone:

I decided that I really want (and need) to go to the Adirondack symposium in Lake Placid this Friday. Because Ernest and I will both be at the conference, class on Friday has to be cancelled. I know this is bad news, but I hope you understand that we are doing this for the benefit of the course.

Since I will not be around to hand back your papers on Friday, you should stop by my office anytime after 10:30 AM tomorrow to pick them up.

Thanks for understanding. Have a good break!
Dave

This means I have no class on friday now, and I have a break monday/tuesday so I get to go home early

Yea, for my tests I didn't take very many notes, since I thought most of the test materail was coming from all the quizzes we took, but no, he said NOTHING will come from teh quizzes. So here I am sitting with maybe a fourth of the test in front of me with the few notes I took in the first 2 weeks. A couple handouts that might help me out too, but other than that I'm screwed. I guess it's good I got 10/10 on all 4 of the quizzes we've had!

This test and the fact that I have a weekend class that meets 6-10pm this Friday night and 8am-6pm Sat. afternoon is wanting to make myself go insane. Also all my roomates are wanting to buy kegs this weekend and party when I'm going to have to be getting up early to go to school.

I stayed up until 3am last night doing a 10 source annotated bibliography. I slept until 8am, and went to the library to finish my annotation. I walked to my class, and to my surprise, the class I was doing all this for was cancelled for the day.

oh man, i hate when you spend all this time studying or completing an assignment, only to find out later that the test or due date has been moved or canceled.

how come you couldn't just get the notes from someone a friend or someone else who's taking the class?

I hate when people emphasize a course as being "not related to my major" and therefore imply that it somehow less important. you signed up for the class, so suck it up. and taking courses outside of your major can be useful to you know...like random conversations, or just learning something new. College is about learning and expanding your mind, so expand it to non-western music. im an ACCOUNTING major and im taking a course on BIOMEDICAL ETHICS. clearly in no way involved with my major, and yet it is definitly a valuable course because I have leaerned a TON from it. if you opened your mind and quit whining, you would probably see some value in your class too!

ps: sorry to come off harsh, I am passionate about a well rounded education in college!

oh yeah, and just to show that I can be bitter about college too, im going to ***** about my upcoming week. today is saturday the 30th. i have an exam on sunday, october 1st, an exam on monday october 2nd, exam on wednesday the 4th, exam on thurdsay the 5th, and another exam next sunday, the 8th. so it looks like quite a few sober nights ahead of me.
