I have a 27 iMac and it's 1 month shy of a year old and it just shuts off for no reason, so I called mac support they it's normal for this to happen. I have never had this happen with a pc so why now with a mac that cost me 4 times as much as a pc did. It is running Yosemite.

Can you describe in more detail what is meant by "just shuts off for no reason"? What exactly happens?

Cost has nothing to do with it. You can buy a $200,000 Lamborghini...and it can get a flat tire just like a $17,000 Ford Focus (that's an 11x price difference)!;)

p.s. I don't know the exact details of the Mac Support discussion. But this is not something that should normally happen.

You can close this , fixed.

Can you tell us how you fixed things? The solution may help others with a similar issue in the future.:)

Thanks,

- Nick
