Are you trying to share using iTunes?

Make sure the PC has iTunes running and you have set it to share music.

Run iTunes on the Mac. You should see a "Mario's Library". Open that and all your music and playlists should be there. Note that iTunes MUST be running no the host computer. I have just left my PC on as a music/file server and leave iTunes always running.

If you are trying to do this without iTunes make sure you have shared the folder in Windows. However, I don't think you can make iTunes on the mac use the remote folder on the PC as its source folder, but you can copy the music over this way if you like.

Everything that you just wrote, is exactly what i did. On the pc the setting is on sharing and on my mac i can see "Mario's Music" but when i click on it , it goes returns to my songs on my mac..
My itunes are also updated if that helps.

Thanks,
Mario

Has anyone tried this? Can you use basic file sharing between the Mac and the PC? Put your iTunes library on one machine or the other. Then make the machines visible to each other via basic file sharing. Whichever machine doesn't have the iTunes library on it - point the iTunes of that machine to the library on the other machine. In essence, both machines are working against a single shared iTunes library, hosted on one machine or the other.

You can point Mac iTunes to an external/shared drive/folder on the PC by:

1. Open iTunes preferences.
2. Click the Advanced icon (gear).
3. Under General, you'll see the location of the music folder.
4. Simply point it to the folder you'd like to use.

You could try OurTunes

if you have a network set up.
