I am having an issue with my Finder/Trash icons. I can switch them temporarily using candybar or shapeshifter, but the change doesn't remain. If I activate either of those, they tend to revert back to their original icon.

Any tips on how to get them to stay changed?

Thanks.

John.

Why not post your "fix" in case another poster has the same issue sometime? Just the polite thing to do...

Are you using Shapeshifter/Candybar or changing them manually?

i have shapshifter installed

the way im changing them is clicking on the icon i want, then going to "get info" then clicking the little picture of the icon and then going to edit and clicking copy.

then i go to the icon i want to change and do the whole get info but instead of copy i just paste...

not sure if thats manual or not

Yeah that's the manual way of doing it. Candybar is an easier way of changing icons and lets you change finder, trash etc.

Just remember to keep backups of your original icons.
