Sure. All the music you put in iTunes will be easily read by an iPod once you connect it. in fact the iTunes should open automatically right as you connect it. The mini is a 4 gig that can hold 1000 songs. The biggest iPod is a 40 gig - 10000 songs max or so. I like the minis cause I don't see ever needing more then 1000 at a time and they are amazingly small! and come in colors :)

The Mini is about 249 I guess depending on the store. The store near me seems to be sold out most of the time The iPod starts at about 299 ;)

The only thing I'd be concerned about is the charger. Since USA we use 110 volt AC and in UK it's 220. But more importantly the 110 in US is 60 cycle/second, in most of Europe it's 50 cycle/second. Now here's the fun part, the slower current cycle in Europe will result in higher heat, since the electric flow is longer between cycles. For some electric things this isn't a problem. But I'd be careful about electronics ;)

I have 1609 songs on my iPod, and that's not all my cd's..not even half....so I'm glad I got the 20.

Go 20 gigness! :) Enough to hold all my music and backups, as well as Mac OS X Panther, in case something happends. I can boot into OS X off the iPod, and do what I need to do.
The iPod mini cannot boot into OS X.

Sure enough, the mini is a 4 gig... But I was thinking about getting it and using an external drive for my back up. But your idea is awesome to ;)
