setting up an ftp

how would I set up an ftp.
I have fetch on my machine. I jsut want to be able to share my photos wih my friends, and attatching them in emails and sending them in aim/msn convos is time consuming and not very efficiant.

I connect to an ftp on a windows machine already, but I dont know very much about setting up and ftp.

do I need a server? ,can I tunr my imac intoa server of sorts?

A FTP server is basically a computer somewhere on the internet that you can connect and upload files for others to see to.

If you already pay for/have access to such a service (you use one under windows?) just enter your account details in fetch (copy them from your windows pc's ftp settings) and you should be good to go.
