It's nice to know I am not alone in this Hey guys, I am experiencing the exact same issue with the exact same frustrations and results. I havent nuked and paved (I'm a recent apple convert, this is my first apple experience) and I have spend hours with senior consultants, etc trying to get this infuriating problem sorted. I 'crossed over' due to the reputation and marketing that says apple 'just works' - i have found just the opposite. This email caper has been 'solved' by senior tech advisors at least 3 times now, and with the exception of a couple of really lovely people the staff seem to be clowning around there. iCloud is a joke, my mac can't even save a pages doc to it for my iPad2 3G to access! I can't get over how seriously I have been taken for a ride about all this..it seems apple sell us what we want, but only give us what they think we should have. The reality is so very much different to the marketing. If I had 5 mins with an apple exec that had some influence I would be able to add 10% to their annual 'migration' sales figures with the list of problems I have encountered and the answers to these problems I would suggest. With 530,000 google results returned on one particular search I did regarding this particular issue the last senior guy I spoke to even had the gall to refuse to admit that there was a wide spread issue with imap compatibility. I have had terrible service to date, and I am ready to drop this mac and iPad combo off to the head office and demand a refund...seriously, if they can't fix a problem this small (or even admit it exists) then I am absolutely done. I paid the big dollars for the in home repair warranty, but they won't send someone out after I have spoken with at least 10 operators (receiving as many answers)...it isn't a hardware problem. I only found out it was an issue when speaking with my host -'unlimited-space' - who informed me of the broader problem and why it happens with their accounts sometimes. I must say this company has, so far, been absolutely amazing (3 phone calls in first week to make sure I was happy, returned all messages to them on phone within 4 hours, polite, etc) and I have faith that they are correct this is a problem apple needs to address. I recently swapped over from web alive (NEVER again, avoid them like the plague and the worst service ever - apple are at least polite) and though this problem occurred there in early days it seemed to settle down somewhat and only happen once per fortnight or so since October when I got this iMac. I too store my emails on my mac, not on the server, but it doesn't help me in this case. If anyone has the answers, please let me know! Likewise I will share any insight I gain on the problem (I joined this forum just for this thread).
