I have a legitimate FC Studio 2.0.1 Academic since 2008. I haven't used it for the past 6 months. Today when I try opening it, i am asked to enter the serial number. I have tried both numbers that are on the box and none is accepted. i tried them with the space and without the space. It is the first time ever this number is asked of me. Does anyone know about this problem? Thanks in advance.

thank you for your advice. i think that the problem started because i had the main logic board changed since the previous one died on me.

thank you so much for your advice. i called and was sent a link to request a new serial number because what is on the box is not a serial number. and my husband insisted kindly on me to look again for the installation booklet. i found it with the serial number on it in that folder i have been going through several times all of last week. without registering and reaching out to the mac-forum i wouldn't have solved the problem. i think that my heart was unable to deal with the entire issue because it was my late son who had helped me install the program. but it is with him in my mind and in my heart that i went through registering on the forum and really tried to solve the problem because this is what he would have wanted me to do. he used to say: mom don't be afraid to try, you will not break the machine . he had a phd in computer science.
