There was a thread recently where someone was asking about the "send later" option in Messages. That thread went a little sideways and has been closed.

I thought I would add the following info in case others had trouble making this feature work.

I needed to try this feature recently for the first time since it was introduced. When I tried to send a delayed message to an IOS users the option is there and I assume it works properly though I have not tried it yet. If you use Messages and attempt to send a delayed message to an Android user the send later option is not present. As far as I can tell the issue seems to be that Apple's implementation of the RCS protocol to send messages to non-IOS devices doesn't support all available features. Android users have had this feature for some time. I hope this gets addressed soon.

The possibility that this is a bug has also been raised but I suspect the first option is most likely.

The send later option is only available for iMessages, not MMS or SMS and not to Android phones for the same reason but I believe Android has fixed this incompatibility with their latest OS. Unlike iPhones not all new Android phones can run the latest OS.

Was that OPost about Messages or Mail? macOS or iOS? The OPoster tried to clarify things. Where did that thread go to?

Never mind, just read it.
