95% of the time, I do the same repetitive thing:
- Open up the same website and position it on the left side (to a certain size)
-Open up a finder window and go to the same specific directory and place it at top right
-Open up a finder window and go to the same specific directory and place it at bottom right

I have purchased Magnet . But I cannot control the size of the windows. They are too exact, 1/2 Right, 1/2 Left, 1/4 Top Left, etc.....
After I set the desktop the way I need it, is there a way that I can save it and retrieve with a series of key strokes ?

Spaces will do a lot of what you want, but they will not remember the apps you had launched and what folder they were selected to and so on. If you were to dedicate an app to a space, launching that app will always send it to that space.

Not sure if you are using a single monitor or multiple or Spaces currently, but you might be able to accomplish what you want to do by using an AppleScript that launches the apps you want and sets them to their appropriate config. You would use something like Magnet to control placement potentially..

Update :

I found "Keyboard Maestro" to be too big of a learning curve...... It will do it alright but for an old fart like me, I would be struggling to learn it !!!!!

But I did find the exact app I was looking for.....

Shortcut Bar

Working well for me.

Thanks for posting back and letting us know your solution. I wasn't aware of that app. It looks interesting.
