So far, very fast. If they can make AdBlock Plus for it, I'm sold!

Safari 3 Beta

Has anyone given this a whirl yet on either a Mac or Windows machine? I haven't had time to install it yet. Just curious to know what the feedback is so far.

Hmm.... Windows users get new hotness. Mac users get brushed metal?

I mean, no offense brushed, but it is a little 2002 :)

Presumably the interface will update with Leopard, if Leopard's UI replaces the brushed metal.

It works great on my Toshiba running XP Pro. However, it won't work on my iBook running 10.4.9

Only one thought: WHYYYY????

Ya, I kind of thought the same thing too. The I realized that it was for us Mac users who have to use PCs at work. The I realized that it said XP and Vista and I still use 2000 at work. The I discovered it requires Admin rights to install (why? even FireFox doesn't require that!) and that I couldn't even if I wanted to. Then I was bummed...

Trying it on Vista and it runs kinda slow. Not as fast as Firefox. The beta seems to crash when I go to certain pages including some threads on this forum. It even crashes when I try to log in, which is why I'm writing this in Firefox.

I can't change the the "Home Page" without it crashing...
Maybe they did that on purpose to advertise to the Windows users... :D:D:D

It runs great on my macbook pro, but it runs quite poorly in windows. It seems to render far more slowly than firefox as well. The interface is so out of place in Windows, but beautiful nonetheless.

Auto scroll would be really nice... how lucky for windows users to get the new interface and the ability to maximize the browser window.

Good work Apple either way. I look forward to the next, STABLE release of this beta.

I dont really notice any difference between 2 and beta 3, except it loads certain sites slower.

The brushed metal looks horrendous in Windows, more so in Vista since it really clashes with Aero Glass.

as smurfy so eloquently put it: why?

why add a mediocre browser to the plethora of ones already out there?

I personally don't like it. The brushed metal looks horrible on Windows Vista as it really clashes with Aero Glass.

Then again, I don't use Safari on my Mac, so I see no reason to use it on Windows either

More stable than Safari 2 for me.
