after watching the keynote. i downloaded the beta safari 3, i rarely used the old safari (firefox) but upon using safari, i absolutely LOVE it!

but since it IS just beta... and there are a few annoyances, i was wondering if anyone knows where you can submit feedback. i checked the apple site, but couldn't really find anywhere...

-also, i would love to hear what you guys like or don't like about the beta :p

(please don't turn it into another browser fight thread... safari only:))

Safari > Report Bugs to Apple.

On Windows, it's Help > Report Bugs to Apple. I think.

If you often report problems with specific sites, you can add the Bug button to the toolbar. (View > Customize Address Bar)

I love the new Find feature in Safari 3. I've encountered a little bug though.
I was using Yahoo messenger the night I installed Safari 3, and noticed that the installation somehow affected the behavior of Yahoo. Every time I sent or received a message, the chat window would jump to the top of the conversation. This meant I would have to manually scroll to the bottom of the chat window with EVERY line of text that was sent or received. Very annoying.

I've reported it to Apple already, and tried to fix it. Haven't had a chance to see if it worked yet or not. I trashed yahoo, then reinstalled safari. I would assume that this shouldn't then affect Yahoo if I've deleted all the files. So, fingers crossed it's fixed up.

Haven't tested other chat apps yet though. Hopefully it doesn't also affect Adium. Aside from this, Safari 3 is very nice. Can't wait for 10.5 now! mmmm, new dock.

I thought that too. The only major difference I came across, was the search function. Hit apple+f, search for something, and enjoy the eye-candy.

Update: Regarding the problem in my post above - I solved it by uninstalling Safari 3 and restoring Safari 2. Yahoo works like a charm now. I sure hope this is ironed out soon for Safari 3. Much as I want to use it, I simply couldn't take that bug with safari/yahoo. Ah well, suppose I just have to wait for updates for now.

Really? Dragging the tabs around is super. i don't know how any times I've tried to do it in 2 forgetting it didn't happen. Dragging an open window into another to shut that window & create tabs is nice and clean.

yea, after i had installed safari, my msn started to crash constantly, though i never actually related the two... msn:mac has never really been very stable. but now that you guys mention it happens with yahoo and ichat, i realized it started to happen right after i installed safari.

I've had that option for quite some time now, other than dragging to another window, but I don't think I'll use that option when I get the ability to either. Safaristand for the win.

Is it just me or can you not add a new theme to the Safari Beta?

You mean like a Shapeshifter theme? Yeah, lots of people have had problems doing that.

Doh :( Is there a way around it or do I have to wait for the proper version of the new Safari to come out?

Brushed metal is rubbish.

Safari update.

Hi, I was trying to get safari beta and download it but when I went to install it, it said the volume isn't suitable for update, so me, being the person I am, deleted the older version of safari I had instead of just moving it back to the applications folder, which is why it would'nt download in the first place.

So anyways, I was wondering if someone could either tell me if:
I) where i can get the older version of safari back so I can upgrade to beta

or/and
II)If there's a way to get beta without having the older safari..
PS, i hate version 10.4.9

Welcome to Mac-Forums, bradio_cheerio!

Well you should have your previous Safari version on your OS install disk that came with your Mac or on the Tiger install disk. Then use Pacifist to get just the Safari installer package out of your OS install.

Do you mean of OSX? Do you hate OSX vers 10.4.9? Seems a little odd to hate the specific version of an OS, but perhaps you mean Safari...;D

I found that Safaristand didn't work with the beta. I don't have brushed metal on mine so it must have inherited the style from the Safari 2?

Haven't figured out everything that is different yet :)

and an other add on, just because I can,
I meant to write that I have OSX 10.4.9, not that I hate.
Sorry to any I may have offended, lol.

iChat and Safari Beta

ever since i downloaded the beta my iChat hasn't been the same when a new person IM's me i hear the boop but it doesn't come up then i go to force quit the program i dont actually do it then a error message of (Join Failed An error occurred while attempting to join the chat"

I'm having the same issues with the Safari beta... It's messed my iChat up. I keep getting a "Join" error...

An error occurred while attempting to join the chat.

It happens A LOT! Roughly every 5 min or so... I never got these errors until I downloaded the Safari Beta. I've put it on two machines too and they both give me that error now.

It's harmless but REALLY annoying.
