But since the vast majority are not, I don't see that it would make much of a difference. It would be nice if VMWare could dedicate specific cores to the VM, but that's not how it works. Unfortunately today's multiprocessing in virtualization is more abstract than that.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>It depends on your OS and the requirements of the applications you run within it. Generally Windows 7 is comfortable with 2GB in my experience. If you're running more heavy hitter apps, 4GB+ is preferable.
