Hey everyone. I'm sorry if this post seems asinine or too demanding, but it's something I need to look into. I'm more of a PC guy (not that I think they're better, it's just how I turned out) and my girlfriend is thinking of getting a refurbished 14" iBook.
I have a co-worker who is apple certified or something--point is, she knows a lot about macs. I asked her about the 14" iBooks and sure enough, first thing she says to me is "Don't get one". She said that because they use a different board or something that they're highly buggy. Another coworker of mine testified to this as well. Is there anything to this? If so, is it just certain years or models of 14" iBooks. And I really hate to sound too demanding, but if there is something to what I've heard about these, where can I turn to find something reputable to show to my girlfriend? I'd hate for her to end up buying one of these things and have problems with it, but she probably won't pay much heed to me just telling her that a couple of random people from work said they're "bad". She's a librarian...she needs documentation and good sources for this kind of thing.
Thanks very much for reading this. ANY help at all is MUCH appreciated.
P.S. Bear in mind here I'm talking about the iBooks, NOT the powerbooks. She basically doesn't have the money for a powerbook, otherwise there wouldn't even be an issue.
