Router Question with Both PC & Mac

Presently we have a Linksys router hooked up to a desktop PC and also use a notebook PC. However, our daughter is getting a MacBook Pro in the next few weeks for use here and then in college in the fall. Will she be able to use her MacBook with that current connection or will she have to have a different router? (I'm also not sure how this would work at her college, although we have seen students there with Macs.) I have no earthly idea how we can access our PCs and a Mac with two different routers, so I'm hoping this will be an easy solution. Thanks!

A router is a router is a router. As long as it supports the protocols that you are trying to connect with, then you're good. Since the MBP is wireless 802.11n, it is backwards compatible with 802.11 a/b/g. This holds true for the wireless network at her college.

If the router is not wireless she can still plug into it as well.

Yep, there are still some of those out there.
