It's terrifying that I might actually have to install XP on this iMac just to get full use of it while playing World of Warcraft. </p><p></p><p>I setup the computer this afternoon, began installing the Mac version and started researching drivers and realized...wow, Logitech doesn't support Apple even slightly. I panicked. I <strong>cannot</strong> play without the extra 18 keys on the side.</p><p></p><p>I tried <a href="http://www.g15tools.com" target="_blank">www.g15tools.com</a> and tried the incredibly detailed, yet confusing and didn't quite work install instructions involving chmod and sudo and a lot of barely familiar commands in Terminal. Did I install it right? Eh, it's not working so I guess not. Next, I tried the easy-press-1-button Leopard package listed on that site as well. Seemed to install easily, yet didn't allow me to select a destination for install (which is good I suppose since I really wouldn't know where to put it either way). Finally I've tried out ControllerMate (<a href="http://www.orderedbytes.com" target="_blank">www.orderedbytes.com</a>) which is also supposed to be a useful overall USB hard-hack with a config file presetting a bit of the G15 keys for easy macroing.</p><p></p><p>No dice. I'm not sure if I've even uninstalled the original G15daemon correctly before using ControllerMate, which may not be working due to a conflict with the daemon drivers. In ControllerMate, it splits the keyboard into the 3 USB devices: the media controls, the 101-keyboard function, and the 18 additional G keys. The palette area where you can begin to macro doesn't show the additional G-keys at all, and there's some reports on their forums about some users having problems and some working flawlessly.</p><p></p><p>Please, if you can help, keep me from loading XP for a stupid keyboard. I need those 18-keys working. Using the 3.06Ghz Core 2 Duo, Geforce 8800 GS, 24" iMac. </p><p></p><p>Other info: Attempts at "starting" the G15daemon gave me file not found errors in terminal, even when I'm fairly sure I had pathed to the correct directory where it was installed. If I could get ControllerMate working, that would be FANTASTIC.
