Yes I am a beginner with Mac. It was a gift from my son and is set up for his wife. No one could remember the password but Apple helped me change the password and I figured out how to change the Admin to myself. Everything but the login is still showing her as Admin. I am wondering if I need to just reinstall the OS. Sorry, I am getting away from the subject. I prefer Firefox and play a Facebook app/game that causes Firefox to start using in the 200's MB real memory and after a short while, half to 1 hour, uses up to 800's MB real memory. That said, I do not use AirPort Base Sta Agent so I stopped that Process. I also stopped Spotlight Process. Shortly after that another process appeared, Folder Actions Dispatcher. Still FF uses almost all of my 1GB memory. I may have a Firefox problem here. None of what I did gives me back more free memory. As I don't know much about the Apps in Mac I removed what I felt was safe , like Garbage Band, removed all the photos from iPhoto giving more Disk Space, which btw was not a problem as there is a lot of free disk space. Memory is my problem. The app/game just continues to get bogged down. I am restarting every 45 mins to hour to get back memory/speed. There is probably a lot in the machine that is useless to me. One other thing, there are 2 'launchd' processes, a root and admin. I hope my problem makes sense. I need help. I am a Windows user from way back and know what I can do and how but this Mac is a whole new ballgame. I just don't understand it. Thank you so much for any help you can give me. I am noticing slower response to loading tabs and any other action following the stopping of these processes.
