OOOO. Too bad Im really short on cash at the moment. I need to get a small backpacking tent, and a water purifier wouldnt be a bad idea either. I have several backpacking trips planned for this summer, all in the Adirondacks.

Thanks for the heads up Ride.

Sangre De Cristo Mountains near Buena Vista.... You're in Denver right? I may take you up on that. :D I don't drink, but it would still be fun.

It's a great sale.. They do it once per year... I wait all year long to get new gear. I bought the Marmot Aeolos 2P Tent and the MSR WaterWorks EX Purifier...

If you don't already have a stove for your trip, I would HIGHLY recommend the JetBoil. This thing ROCKS!!! I have 2 Personal Cooking Systems, and a Group Pot.

Well, I'm an Eagle scout, and still somewhat active with the troop, so I can borrow some stuff from the troop, like a stove and fuel bottle, and water purifier. I've used the MSR Dragonfly stove, and love it. After looking around some, I found a perfect backpacking tent on Campmor.com. Eureka Solitare which I think I might get.

Those are some pretty good deals there, but I'm more of the Gander Mountain or Bass Pro Shops type of guy. In fact, I wish I could just camp in a Bass Pro Shop for a few days.

Then I say try it... go in about an hour before they close... get in a tent... zip it up.

When they comeback in the morning, be sure to be standing in your boxer shorts using one of the camp stoves when you say "THIS stove is great, I think I'll buy it... Who wants bacon???"

(1) My idea of camping is a hotel with an outdoor pool.

(2) The wife and I go to Sedona every year or two. It's fantastic:

Taken from the parking lot of our hotel.

It's not all red rock, though. This is the West Fork in Autumn.

From the canyon floor

But there are plenty of red rocks if you like that sort of thing!

Nice Todd! Yeah... My wife and I love AZ... I lived there for about 6 months (4 friends and I moved there straight out of high school.. a 6 month party:D:D)... I still go back quite a bit. Sedona is incredible.

Our "real" vacation this year will be HI in December for about 10 days. We've been to Oahu, Kawaii, and Maui (twice) ... this will be our first time to the Big Island.

We will be camping at the Hilton Resort.

RIDE and eric don't drink??? I'm in college. So, I'm obligated to drink. In fact, I have a some Guinness waiting at a buddy's house right now. I will happily consume it once I get off work.

Guiness is horrid. But to each his own. The only thing I like guiness for is car bombs, and no, not the explosive kind.
