Refurbished or new?

Hi,

I recently ordered a new Macbook Pro, which when I opened it out of the box, came out to be defective...spoke to Apple about it and they're sending a replacement which they claim will be a new Macbook Pro. Therefore, I was wondering if that will actually be a new laptop or a refurbished one? I'm asking this because I've heard of cases about Apple shipping refurbished ones instead of new ones to their customers.... Mine is a custom configured one..

Has this happened with anyone here? Any comments/suggestions?

Thanks.

I'm starting to wonder if they actually check the merchandise before they ship it out. Lots of post with defective MB/MBP being shipped. >_<"
