Rebooting into Linux

I installed Windows10 on my Mac with bootcamp but I must have done something wrong because I cannot seem to boot into anything but Windows. I tried all the combinations of command-R, command-option-R, etc... that I could find. I was able to boot Windows into some recovery mode but not to be able to get back to OS X. As an alternative approach, I created a Linux boot stick but I could't get the computer to boot into that either. Any suggestions on how to boot into OS X or Linux would be greatly appreciated.

The key step is to press and HOLD Option key throughout the boot process, holding it down until the options start to appear on the screen. It's not a tap, it is a HOLD.

I definitely tried that, several times. The computer boots right to Windows. I also checked that the keyboard is working and connected before rebooting.

Do you have the Start up options in the taskbar?

I don't see any particular start options in Windows, other than Shutdown, Restart, and Hibernate. But perhaps I'm not understanding what you are asking.

You should have a Boot Camp entry in Control Panel. And if you installed Windows correctly, there should also be a startup icon in the system tray that allows you to choose starting up in Windows or macOS.

I don't have a startup icon in the system tray that allows me to choose between starting up in Windows or OS X, but I do have an entry in Control Panel. Thank you very much, I was able to successfully start up in OS X ! Now I just need my keyboard to connect so that I can enter my password...

What kind of keyboard do you have?

I have the typical, wireless Machintosh keyboard. It was connected in OS X before and it connects with Windows. But when I rebooted into OS X (as above), it doesn't seem to want to connect for the moment. The keyboard LED lights up green so I know that it is working. Perhaps the keyboard can only connect to one device at a time and I have to reconnect it in OS X ? And to do that I need to login...

I found the solution. During restart, Mac connects to any keyboard in pairing mode. To put my older mac keyboard in pairing mode, I had press and hold the command and the keyboard's power button (circular, metal, on side of keyboard) for a few seconds. I was able to repair my keyboard and enter my password.

I have been stuck on figuring out how to reboot for a while. Thanks for all the help !!!
