RawTherapee can't view folders and folder contents.

iMac24, M1 cpu. -Big Sur.
RawTherapee (camera raw file editor) can't view folders and folder contents.
Dragging files into RawTherapee works, also double clicking SD-card works which opens file(s) in RawTherapee.

Someone mentioned that the problem may be that RawTherapee uses its own internal file browser and not Finder.
Apps like Photoshop etc. on the other hand uses the OS' Finder app and this does not create problems.

Has anyone experienced the same behaviour in apps that uses their own file browser,-and what can be done to correct it?

Solved: I created folders in Documents. Rawtherapee won't find those.
On the other hand, RT will find folders and files in Mac's own image library.
It appears that RT want's images to be in this library.
