Ram upgrade

I have a G4 Powermac Dual 500mhz with 1gb of ram. I want to upgrade to 2gb of ram but am not sure about which to get.

It's PC133. Now I see that this comes in High and Low Density. The Low density says it's more compatible with most computers but is also more expensive.

High density is cheaper but your motherboard must support it.

I was looking at ram on macmall.com but none of them are labled high or low density.

Any ideas?

As long as MacMall is stating that it is compatible with your machine, you shouldn't have any problems. If you're unsure, check OWC or MacSolutions They both have great prices and service, and the memory will be guaranteed to work with your machine.

By the way, 1 GB of memory is more than sufficient for almost anything you'll be doing on a 500 G4 DP. Unless you're doing something very, very memory-intensive, the additional 1 GB you purchase will most likely be sitting empty most of the time. Just a suggestion, since the money spent on that RAM could be put towards some other upgrade for your system.

The thing is i'm not going to purchase it from macmall, way too expensive. I'd like to get it elsewhere. That's why I was asking.
I can get a 512mb stick for about $45. But it's high density.

At some point I will be getting a dual cpu upgrade from gigadesigns. They are rather expensive though.
