Hi all,

I just started out here. Got a brand new Black Macbook and I like it so far, but I notice it gets real slow when I have a few apps open, especially garage band. I think only having 512mb Ram is the culprit. Where's the best place to get some cheap RAM??

Thanks!

Try the kingston website and go look for apple as the manufacturer and selecting macbook. It will give you the part number for their compatible RAM which is a lot cheaper than what Apple charges you.

However, having said that, you should get the RAM in indentical pairs for dual channel that's why you should've upgraded during the time when you configured your Macbook.
Right now inside you have 2 x 256MB. To upgrade properly you will need swap them out and buy 2 x 512MB...ouch.
