Rain Recording Storm Drive Pocket Hard Drive

I am shopping for a external harddrive and came across the Rain Recording Storm Drive USB and FireWire Hard Drive (300GB). Main Purpose is to carry my music library for DJing on my Macbook. Anyone use these or familiar with them ?

1st, it's $280 for 300 GB drive with USB, FW400 and 1 yr warranty
2nd, Rain Sales & Return Policy - If you recieve a malfunctioning unit and return it, then they decide it is not DOA, their policy states they will charge you up to $500 handling charge
3rd, Rain Warranty - states that they must be notified in writing to make use of their warranty - not real good when you have a failed drive on your hands
4th, Never heard of 'em
5th, No mention anywhere on their site of whose drive they are using in this enclosure

Have to say for me - NO WAY

How about $136 for a Lacie 320 GB with USB, FW400, & FW800 , still 1 yr warranty - they don't tell you whose drive either

Or $150 for a Seagate 320 GB, USB, FW400, eSATA and 5 yr warranty

Or $203 for a WD 500 GB, USB, FW400, FW800 and 3 yr warranty

Or $210 for an OWC 320 GB, USB, FW400, FW800, eSATA, 2 yr warranty on the case and 5 yr warranty on the Seagate drive inside, also with 16MB cache instead of 8 MB

All of Rain's products are WAY overpriced, simply because they "cater" to the music production niche, and apparently some people in that niche don't do research.

Run away.
