I downloaded R Studio IDE for Mac OSX. I attempted to open it. I got an error message that read "R Not Found: Unable to locate R binary by scanning standard locations". The only option was to click "OK" Upon doing so the program closes. I tried re-downloading it and I get the same problem. I tried googling the exact error message that I get and there are a lot of suggestions but they all seem to involve being able to open R Studio, which I cannot do. Can anyone help me?

Do you happen to know where R installs to? If it's looking in a place that it isn't installed to, a simple solution might be a symlink.

I had to install R first. This worked for me:
1. First install R 3.2.0 binary for Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) and higher at R for Mac OS X
2. Then run R
3. Then run RStudio
