When QT 7 was released a few months ago I updated the software without thinking twice. It only took me a few days to find out that QT7 had killed QT6 Pro and apple wanted me to cough up again to access the pro features. I promtly said screw that, reinstalled QT6 and was happy until today. I tired to watch a movie trailer and a box popped up and said that I wasn't able to to watch the clip without QT7. Needless to say, I'm a little choked. Is there any way to download the free version of 7 and keep 6Pro?

Nope you can't have both. QuickTime 7 has the H.264 codec which is what all the HiDef trailers are encoded in
