• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Depends on what you're doing. What do you want to use it for? I bought Pro but for me it's been worth it.

Check out the QT website and decide for yourself.
I'm enjoying the FullScreen and the ability to save videos from the internet.

Be sure if you get it that you move it because when Quicktime 8 comes out it will overwrite it. I had to do that to be able to keep Pro 6.5. I really don't like 7 but that's just me.

I like it for trimming clips. Can't do that without Pro.

Hi,

I am currently a student of Lincoln University studying Interactive Multimedia, I do a lot of work with all kinds of media from video to graphic design, from CD based content to website design (flash etc.)

I am looking for something that I can use to convert/encode videos for such things as web and CD content, I just want to get the opinions of those of you who have QuickTime pro as to how good it is at doing these things, would it be worth me buying it basically?

Regards,

Chris. ;)
