Does anyone use the Quicken for Mac? Is it okay to download it directly from internet?

Yes, it's OK to download it directly provided the download is either from Intuit or Apple (Mac App Store). Here's the Intuit download site for Quicken Mac 2015: LINK $74.99

Do I want the 2015 even tho I'm doing the 2014 and would love to add back to the 2014 if that is possible.

I'm sure the new 2015 version will accept 2014 transactions without a problem. However, you can always give Intuit support a call and ask them directly.
