There's no guaranty that iWork 08 will install properly in Mavericks.  It gave me problems, but since I purchased a new iMac, Apple included the latest version of Pages, Keynote, and Numbers as a free download.I think for now it's probably best to stick with 10.6.8 until you can purchase a new Mac. Later on when you do get a new Mac, you can decide about buying the newer version of Pages.</blockquote>
