Message: <blockquote data-quote="chscag" data-source="post: 1010980" data-attributes="member: 46727">If you are using Leopard 10.5.4, then you have Time Machine.  It should be listed as "Time Machine.app" in your applications folder.You can use the empty space on your external hard drive for Time Machine backups provided the drive is formatted to HFS Extended Journaled.  Of course the empty space would have to be set aside as a partition first.  You can do that with Disk Utility.And contrary to what the other post mentioned about using your internal hard drive for Time Machine, don't do it.  If the internal hard drive fails you would have no way to restore.  Always use an external hard drive for backup.Regards.</blockquote>
