Question About Mail In Leopard

I just set up my mail and upgraded to Leopard. In my mail I have the regular inbox and now a Gmail folder. I end up getting copies of everything in the Gmail and end up with duplicates of every received and sent message.

Can someone tell me how to fix this?

Looks like you set up Gmail for IMAP, am I correct? If so, sorry, that's the way Mail handles it. The good news is as you read the messages in your Inbox, they will eventually be marked as "Read". I, too, wish it were more speedy but that's the way it is.
