question about a virus

for a couple of weeks i couldnt get my imac to turn on and load everything it was going so slow and today it finnally turned on and a couple things would not load( including aim) so i virus scanned but my updates we out of date, so i went to download the next update and it would not open and it said

The application "InstallerVISE" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "?<BaseInstaller Carbon><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_NavigationServices><>"



does anyone have a clue what that coul mean?

repair your permissions, that should hopefully take care of a lot of those problems

i did that and it didnt change anything

Mac Pro 8x3.0ghz 12gb ram 8800GT , MBP 2.16 2GB Ram 17 inch.
Repairing permissions unless you have a permissions problem, most of the time does nothing, but its always a good place to start. I would recommend creating a new account on your computer and seeing if the problem is on that account as well. If it is then check back with us.. If it is not let us know, it could be a .plist (preferences) problem which will be easily solvable.
