Hey there forum!
Last week I've purchased my very first Mac, and it's just great ^^

Now, after using it for a week, CoconutBattery says my battery capacity is at 94%, which seems troublesome to me. Also, it says my MacBook Pro is 3 months old o_O

Would calibrating the battery deal with this problem?

That's odd. (I'm assuming you bought a new one, not a used someone decided they didn't want and turned back around). People have been complaining about the MBP battery since it came out, but I'm surprised it only took a week to get it down to 94%. That's where my MBP is now, and it's been about 7 months. It's a possibility that the computer was manufactured 3 months ago and just sat around until now, but that's highly unlikely.

I realize this isn't probably all that helpful, but I think the best advice I could give is just to wait and see what happens. If the battery health continues to drop this rapidly, take it to the Apple Store and see what they can do.

Corbab may be right. I would wait and see, and if it declines even more, I would take it to an Apple store. I don't think Re-calibrating your battery wouldn't hurt though. Just make sure you use the instructions off the Apple website and do it properly!

I find that a little odd. I used coconut battery a couple of days ago. My mac is 9 months old and has 92% capacity.

Anyways, good luck!

The 3 months old part is simply when it was 'born' so to speak and dependent on where you purchased it from, there is a high chance its been sitting around for 3 months. I bought a macbook around a month or so ago and it said it was 2 months old when I first switched it on.

With regard to your battery health, id say calibrating it will bring it back up to 100% health, if it doesn't then take it to an Apple store and get them to take a look at it. If I remember correctly, you are advised to calibrate the battery within the 1st couple of weeks using it anyway, so it may just be you haven't done this and that's all that's needed.

Good luck :)

Calibrate it. It has been sitting on a shelf for months.
