Problems with OS X 10.2.6

Hello

I am presently on OSX 10.2.6

I have been having problems with not being able to mount any cd's unless I log-in as a different user. Then the cd's appear on the desktop.

Also when I use Disk Copy, I get the Error-95
' No mountable file system'

When I try to re-install down to OSX 10.2, the 'select a hard drive' screen comes up, but there are no hard drives to select, it is just blank..

Are all these problems connected and if so what shall I do?
Any ideas anyone

Cheers

If you haven't "Repaired Permissions" recently, then you need to do so.

Start Disk Utility
Select your OS X volume
Select "First Aid" tab
Select "Repair Disk Permissions"

Thanks, for the reply, however, I've already Repaired Permissions, done First Aid many times and also used DiskWarrior.
Another thing I have to do is log out, then log into another User account, then log back in to my account and everything seems to be ok; discs show up on the desktopand Disk Copy opens up .dmg files. After a restart however, everything is back to not working again..I still can not use the OX cd though..

I am thoroughly confused
