Hi folks,
I've been trying to live in harmony with Norton 360 for a while now. I am running Catalina v10.15.3 and am experiencing a multitude of gremlins from spinning color wheels, safari page lockups, etc.
I blame Norton but as I read forums there are issues with Adobe as well. Vastest issue is the inevitable spinning color wheels... rather annoying. anyone else?

Why do you feel you Mac benefits from Norton? If you were to completely remove it, does it run better?

What Mac? How much memory? How much free space? What apps are currently loaded and running? What does CPU and Memory tab in Activity Monitor say? Remove Norton 360 and any other anti-virus/malware software you have.

A warm welcome to Mac-Forums, Jmcnpapa and thank you for your post.

Indeed, that is the problem - at leat the main one. Norton, designed for Windows, burrows deep into your Mac's system, slows things down and doesn't detect any threat to your Mac.

Granted, it may not be the only problem; but first priority is to remove it and this may be more difficult than you imagine. These two articles from Norton explain how to do this: Uninstall Norton device security on Mac AND Uninstall Norton device security on Mac

Then reboot your Mac and see how things go. Of course, it may not be the only problem. You mention "Adobe" - Adobe what? Where did you download it from? We may/may not need to address that too.

Another approach could be to download OnyX for macOS Catalina from here: Titanium Software | Operating system utilities for Mac - OnyX Install, Admin PW needed, and access to your system via System Preferences > Security & Privacy

Then run it on the default settings.

Further, as Moderator Raz0rEdge requested: "What Mac? How much memory? How much free space? What apps are currently loaded and running? What does CPU and Memory tab in Activity Monitor say?"

Be assured, we are here to help and will stick with you to get this solved if we possibly can.

I agree with Ashwin! Need more information. Also I would not run Norton 360 on a Mac or a Windows PC. There was a day that Norton was the way to go but that was many moons ago. I never run anti-virus on my macs. Just the occasional check using Malwarebytes for Mac.

Ian also provided you with some excellent advice.

I run Adobe CC on my Mac Pro in both Mojave and Catalina. I am not having any issues or more than normal for Adobe! ;D.
