Problem ending a call

This may seem a dumb question to ask but I sometimes find that, if I have had to answer a question by looking the answer up on my mobile (UK)/cellphone (US), I can't end the call without either asking the person I called to end it or, as a last resort, turning it off.

There must be a simple way to get back to the 'end call' option but I'm damned if I know what it is!

When you leave the active call screen by hitting the Home button or Sliding up on home (you don't say what iPhone you have), there will be a green indicator on the top right with time elapsed, that's how long you've been on the call like below.



When you are done doing whatever searching you were doing, click on the this indicator and you'll be back to the familiar call screen.

I was running out of space in my profile but have removed spacing to update. It’s an SE based on iPhone 6. Thanks, I’ll experiment.
