" For some reason I can't now connect to Amazon on my Macbook Air...... "

For some reason, you might want to share a bit more information like type and version of the OS you are using, browser type and version number etc ..... :Smirk:
Can you share the URL that you can not connect to ?
Any error messages on the screen or in the logfile ?

Cheers ... McBie

my guess is he is using maverick or yosemite if your on yosemite the wifi has issues and won't connect to certain sites if you are using maverick go into safari click the safari menu item at the top of your screen and select reset safari and do a factory reset on safari

sounds like your connection is the issue then most likely in your part of the country your currently going under maintenance

so i would just try again later because i can access it here in the u.s no problems but in the u.k it could be your isp not allowing it government constraints in affect or other issues

Thanks
I don't think it can be the connection - I can access the same website if I use my iPad but not with the Macbook Air.

Have just been able to access the front page of website using the IP address http://176.32.108.186
However it won't let me into the site at all.

What do you have set for your DNS settings in your Network pref pane > Advanced settings?

Not that that should make any difference accessing a site. :(

I had
216.131.65.63
216.131.65.60

and then added
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
when someone suggested that might help.

Those are from OpenDNS. They should work great. I have to use those with my ISP here in the Philippines.

However you may need to check yours again. They should be 208.67.220.222 then 208.67.220.220..
